As part of product development and theme selection, a full
size model is fabricated in fiberglass and detailed to simulate a real
automobile for market research and auto shows.
Taking a mold off a clay model and casting its shape in
fiberglass or similar materials accomplishes the fabrication of this type of
show model.
A model making method developed by Concepts International,
eliminates the need for mold taking with the added benefit of preserving the
original clay model for further development.
The ergonomics of a vehicle is also a part of market research
studies and this is accomplished by including the interior environment on a show
model or by creating a separate property that represents the passenger
environment only.
Concepts International Inc. is building these type of
properties for some of the major car companies.

The creation of a vehicle involves a multitudes of
disciplines, from planning to manufacturing, but the involvement of a designer
and a clay modeler is at the very point of creation, the driving force in
shaping the form and proportions of what can ultimately be a marvelous sculpture
in motion.

Concepts International has extensive
automotive design experience in:
- Theme development of scale and full size clay models.
- Innovative techniques in the visualization of human factors
properties.
- Combination of exterior and interior theme clay models.
- Scanning and duplication of theme clay models.
- Dinoc ( a plastic colored film) application on clay models.
- Clay armatures build for full size clay models.
- Clay armatures build for under body development on scale clay
models.
The theme development of a vehicle by using the computer has
improved the engineering input and offers the advantage that one designer has
complete control on the over all design development, never the less as the
design will mature in its three dimensional form ( clay model) the importance of
the clay sculptor is as vital to day, as before the advent of the computer in
finalizing the design of a vehicle or any product.
